Two sides of a coin – two sides of a canal. From the east of the Welland comes a more masculine expression of the grape with muscular, sinewy power and vigor. Thundering notes of blackberry jam, chocolate nibs, fresh cedar and molasses announce the solid presence of this brawny wine. The might of this vineyard expression demands a perfectly BBQ’d steak or venison chop and may even yield for a robust peppercorn sauce. A full but resolved tannin structure with an interlaced, firm acidity keeps this wine from fading under any culinary challenge.
