This unoaked Chardonnay cashes in on the superb growing season of 2016 as the returns on the hot, dry 2016 summer are an array of concentrated, mature fruit characteristics. Ripe August melon and “first apple of the season” are buttressed by fresh lemon juice and a hint of zest. Banking on lees contact to round out the portfolio of flavours, a wonderful base note of brûlée provides the foundation on which the other essences can compound. Supporting the rich aroma is a nimble acidity that opens up the vault of flavours and makes each delightfully accessible. Enjoy this vintage now but little bottle age will encourage the all parts of this treasure to come to full term.
